DASH is an independent local charity whose mission is to improve the quality of life of adults of working age with Aspergers and other high functioning Autistic Spectrum Conditions living in Swindon.

Our primary aims are to:

  • Raise awareness of Aspergers;

  • Promote and enhance access to assessment and diagnosis, post diagnosis support, welfare and care, housing, education and employment;

  • Research, promote and help to deliver a local model of support and services.

In this way we will help people with Aspergers Syndrome to enjoy safer, healthier, more sociable, more productive and happier lives.

On this page you can access latest news, upcoming events as well as employment and volunteering opportunities. The Activities & Services tab provides more details of our social groups and Autism Matters, DASH's information and advice service.

  • Another HUGE THANKS tostaff at Nationwide, Swindon, who have been raising awareness and collecting to support the continuing work of DASH.
  • ***HUGE THANKS*** Dedicated staff at Swindon-based construction company Beard, in Faraday Road, have raised £15,344.75 for DASH. The donation comes as part of a company-wide, year-long fundraising appeal in celebration of the firm’s 125th business anniversary.The significant sum was raised over 12 months by the firm’s Swindon staff through numerous fundraising events.Beard’s Swindon director Marc Bayley says: “I’m extremely proud of all our Swindon staff who have worked really hard to raise this money. DASH is such an important charity which has helped so many people living with Asperger’s in our local area. I hope that our donation will help the DASH team continue their valuable work which is making a difference to people’s lives in our community.”   DASH manager Adrian Embling says: “DASH is enormously grateful for the time and effort so selflessly donated by everyone at Beard. It was heartening to hear that everyone had such a good time at the fundraising events. It is an astonishing achievement and means we can reassure our service users that their social groups can continue for another year. This affects the lives of many adults on the Autistic spectrum. DASH social groups are often the only social outlet for many of the people who attend. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."

  • ***MORE HUGE THANKS*** DASH has secured funding from Wiltshire Community Foundation and Masonic Charitable Foundation to support the work of the Social Groups and Women's Project. DASH is very grateful to these organisations for agreeing to fund our activities.
  • EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY - DASH is looking for a Social Group Facilitator to help run the Men's Group. The group meets every other Wednesday for social and practical activities. Previous experience of working with adults on the autistic spectrum is not essential; we are looking for someone who can demonstrate listening and observation skills, show patience and tact when dealing with groups and want to stimulate and encourage social interaction amongst a group of adults on the higher end of the autistic spectrum. Details and an application are available at the links below.
  • VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY - DASH is looking for volunteers to help run the Tuesday chat club each Tuesday afternoon at Sanford House. The group supports adults on the spectrum who want to socialise and discuss a variety of topics relevant to their lives and Autistic Spectrum conditions.
